$70.00??!
This is adorable, however you can get it from Toys r us for 39.99.(and yes it has all the same additional playsets) I can't believe Amazon is charging 70. Maybe their's is solid gold. Usually amazon is cheaper, but not this time.

Prefer the 70's Playskool castle...
I was very excited to buy this toy for my son since I had a castle made by Playskool in the 70's. Boy, was I disappointed. My son liked it okay, but he had more fun with the expansion packs that included more horses, people, and especially Robin Hood's tree fort. The castle sections barely stay open, there's only a few places that each piece can fit, and there's not much room to move the characters around. There's only one "animated" piece along with the same sound effect each time. I had to work hard to keep him interested (when he was 1yr and even now that he's 3yrs). Overall, I was very disappointed.

Fun for Lil Princes and Princesses
I got this toy for my son for Easter and he loves everything about it. He loved pushing on the top of the castle and hearing the music play. It comes with a lot of little people figures and creatures like a horse and dragon. The draw bridge is also a lot of fun! Don't pay the 80 that amazon is chraging, it's only 30-40 at toys r us or walmart.

The new Little People castle.
When I was a kid, I played with my brother's Little People castle; my toy Smurfs loved the creaky drawbridge, pink dragon with his cave, and horses with accessories.
Dismayed at the prices of vintage Little People castles on eBay, I decided on the new version for my son. Of course, Little People are very different than they once were, but this castle is about as reminiscent of the old one as a person could expect. There are pictures of the new dragon integrated into the decor--pictures of the old dragon appeared on the old castle, too. The barred window on the horse's room looks like the one on the old dungeon, and it's located in the equivalent of the same place. The way the new staircase rotates when you open the castle reminds me of the way the old staircase swiveled out.
Given all that, there's not much I really miss about the old castle. I did love the cave and the moat with its fish and crocogator, but the new drawbridge features a cool lion's head holding the door knocker. The new Little Kingdom horses are cute, although the method of attaching them to the cart is a bit strange (there's basically a hole for a peg in the top of the tail area). The dragons are also pretty endearing. The new furniture will certainly stand up to more play than the foam upholstery of the old furniture did!
The castle's layout is a little strange to me. Since the castle folds out, two rooms end up being in one area when it's closed. Until I actually read the description on the box, I was very confused by the horse's room. I was still seeing it as part of what's apparently the queen's room. With the barred window (which opens) and grooming supplies there next to the queen's clothing, I wondered what the heck was going on. Was the queen attempting an escape?
Another source of confusion: I think there's only one bed, but it's pretty small to comfortably sleep two. Does either the king or the queen have to be awake at all times?
And I haven't played with it too much, but I'm not sure there's a way to keep the throne on the balcony out (it swings out when the horns trumpet and the torches light up). So if one of the rulers wants to make a speech, (s)he'll probably have to stand.
Still, these little details spark my curiosity rather than actually bothering me. I do think this is a great toy with plenty of room for expansion and for stretching the imagination.
I hope that my son has as many hours of fun with his Little People castle as I had with my brother's!

Kingdom Castle review
My grandaughter just loves this Castle, however I do not think that they sell enough accessories. Although I purchased everything that was available , I found you could not buy additional fences etc. I was able to purchase through E-bay additional fences which make a great court yard.
